The following were created, read and performed by me for Black Press and BCLocalNews.com during the Vancouver Canucks’ 2011 Stanley Cup playoff run.
*They were done using an iPhone and a digital camera and were edited using iMovie.
“Thank you, Canucks”
It’s come to and end – the greatest, longest, most emotional season in franchise history. The only thing left to do is thank our team.
“Game 2 from an Irish Pub”
Not fortunate enough to attend Game 2, I watched the bout from one of Vancouver’s many “standing room only” bars and found the atmosphere to be as electric as inside Rogers Arena.
“My road to the Stanley Cup Final”
Since I can remember, I’ve been waiting for a chance like this… and I’m just a spectator. Here’s Kolby Solinsky’s journey to Rogers Arena for Game 1.
“The legend of Roger Neilson”
Roger Neilson started Vancouver’s “White Towel” tradition in 1982 at the Pacific Coliseum. 29 years later, Canucks fans continue the tradition around his statue at Rogers Arena’s North Plaza, and it’s a sea of blue around game time.
“The tale of Robson and Granville”
As the Canucks push closer and closer to their first Stanley Cup championship, the streets of Vancouver have become a hub for pre-game hype and entertainment.
